Planning Your Website
A good plan is essential to creating a successful website. Your website plan should include:
- Your website objective
- What do your want to accomplish with your site? Sell products
on line? Direct people to your business location?
Distribute/Publish information?
- Long and Short Term Goals
- Define your goals to be met in 6 months, 12 months, years.
- How will you measure the success of your site?
- Decide up front how you will measure success. Will it be a percentage increase in sales? Number of visitors to your site? Number of online orders?
- Be specific in establishing your success measurements.
- Who will maintain and update the content or products?
- This is an important consideration. Too often this job is assigned
to an employee who may not have the skills, knowledge,
or motivation to handle the task.
- What is your budget for website promotion?
- Until your site is found in the search engines (which could be
months) are you willing to promote your site by
paying for advertising or pay-per-click listings?
